This Fair Isle Beanie pattern was written for 2 color changes so it could be created for any team colors.

The Pattern: Team Colors Fair Isle Messy Bun Beanie
Needles: 10mm circular
Yarn: Size 6, Lion Brand Thick and Quick in Color 1: Claret and Color 2: Butterscotch
Cast-on: 48 stitches to start (nicely fits my 23″ circumference head) – I’ve noticed my Fair Isle hats fit more tightly (probably due to all the “extra” carry-along yarn inside the hat) so I use bigger needles and no less than 48 sts cast on. For a little larger, use multiples of 4 sts to increase. For a little smaller, use multiples of 4 sts to decrease.

Cast off and weave in all ends.
This Fair Isle Messy Bun Beanie is a great alternative – smaller than a hat leaving room for your hair but bigger than a headband with more full-head coverage.
