As I am practicing and playing with colors and textures, I’m excited to share another beginner-friendly pattern I worked up. I love fall shades and this butterscotch by Lion Brand does not disappoint. Such a great shade to show off the texture of this extra squishy beanie winter hat.
Yarn: Super Bulky Size 6 – personally, I love Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick
Needles: 9mm, 16″ circular – personally, I love my bamboo Clover Takumi knitting needles
Long tail cast-on: 48 sts
Ribbing: 8 rows: K1, P1 around (48 sts)
Rows 9 and 10: K1 around (48 sts)
Row 11: P1 around (48 sts)
Rows 12 and 13: K2, P2, repeat around (48 sts)
Rows 14 to 28: Repeat rows 11-13 (48 sts)
Row 29: K2tog, K1, K1 around (this reduces it to 36 sts)
Row 30: K2tog, K1, K1 around (this reduces it to 27 sts)
Row 31: K2tog, K1 around (18 sts)
Cut an 8″ tail and thread through then cinch closed.
Optional: Add coordinating pom pom and enjoy!
