There are two variations in this blog post:
- First is repeating one row SC FLO, SC BLO.
-
- Second is repeating two rows: SC FLO, SC BLO then SC BLO, SC FLO.
- Each makes a slightly different texture.
- First Variation: 1 Row Repeat
Chain 27 (or any multiple of 2 +1). Turn the chain over and work the first row in the back “bump” loop instead of the top loops. This creates a nice clean starting edge as seen in my tutorial blog post.
Row 1: Skip first chain, work SC in second st from hook, then SC across. (26 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. SC in first st, then *SC BLO, SC FLO* repeat ** across to last st, SC in last st. (26 sts)
Note: Starting each row with a SC in the first stitch and ending the row with a SC creates a nice neat and strong edge.
Rows 3-23: Repeat Row 2.
Row 24: SC across, cut yarn and secure, weaving ends.
Finished body size: 7″ x 7″.
*Optional – Border: SC around, SC3 in each corner.
- Second Variation: 2 Row Repeat
Chain 27. Turn the chain over and work the first row in the back “bump” loop instead of the top loops. This creates a nice clean starting edge as seen in my tutorial blog post.
Row 1: SC in second st from hook, then SC across (26 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. SC in first st, then *SC BLO, SC FLO* repeat ** across to last st, SC in last st. (26 sts)
Note: Starting each row with a SC in the first stitch and ending the row with a SC creates a nice neat and strong edge.
Rows 3-23: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
Finished body size: 7″ x 7″.
*Optional – Border: SC around, SC3 in each corner.
Happy hooking!
