Free Crochet Pattern: Mickey Mouse Dishcloth, Wash Cloth

I have a great friend who loves Disney. She placed an Etsy order with me for some of my Farmhouse Dishcloths about a week ago and we’re planning to get together for the delivery. This week, she seemed to need a little pick-me-up so I decided to design a special washcloth set as a little surprise “bonus” for her delivery. This free Mickey Mouse crochet pattern is what I was dreamt up for her special delivery. I also published a free Minnie Mouse washcloth design if you would like to make a set. This wash cloth is the perfect way to practice the Lemon Peel fabric (sc, dc repeats), tapestry (carry along the main yarn, and intarsia (switching yarn color to make a shape or pattern).

Lemon peel fabric: Using SC and DC repeated across every row including the color change rows creates a textured crochet fabric that looks the same and looks lovely on both sides. It’s my absolute favorite crochet fabric.

Instead of using simple sc in every row like many intarsia patterns, the rows are a bit taller and I’ve adjusted my charts to allow for the slight difference so the shape isn’t distorted.

Yarn: 100% cotton in your favorite Disney color choices

Main Body Color: Lily Brand 100% Cotton yarn in White

Mickey Colors: 100% Cotton in Red and Black

Hook: H (5mm)

Approx. Size: 9″ with border

Border Row 1: sc around, 3 sc in each corner

Border Row 2: Change to a coordinating color and sc around, 3 sc in each corner
